The Smart Choice for Eye Glasses

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 2:19 PM 1 comments
With the high cost of medical care these days you can barely pay for what you need to care for yourself.  Especially eyeglasses.  Have you seen the prices of eyeglasses these days?  It's ludicrous.  Last year I had to purchase my eyeglasses at Sears because I couldn't afford the $350.00 that my Eye doctor charged.

Mother's Day Gift Guide-Misikko Review and Giveaway

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 9:16 PM 319 comments
Misikko sent me their Hana Professional Flat Iron 1"-Pink Edition to review.  Now since my hair has grown back in after chemo it doesn't have that natural wave to it anymore.  It definitely has to be styled after washing it.  The Misikko Flat Iron it so easy to use.  You can use it on dry or damp hair.  I used it and it took about 10-20 minutes to have my hair styled straight and looking nice.  Also I didn't burn my scalp or hands while using it.  The blades get hot but not the outside of the blades.

A Quick Way to Prevent Diabetes Through Blood Glucose Testing

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 10:08 AM 0 comments
This post was sent to me by Kristina Ridley who also writes for the Diabetes Meters Blog.
Here’s a Quick Way to Prevent Diabetes Trough Blood Glucose Testing:

Having diabetes means having your pancreas affected by Type 2 diabetes. Our blood stream contains glucose, which is converted sugar from what we eat.  As soon as it’s in our blood cells, the insulin secreted by the pancreas makes it a sort-of fuel which our body utilizes.  If you have Type 2 diabetes, it will be difficult for you to produce and use this insulin.  Your body’s cells have a hard time looking for this glucose even if it’s all over your body.

Wow I can't tell you how blessed and honored I feel to receive this Award and to be in the same category as these other great bloggers that received the Award also.  Mommy PR presented me with this wonderful Award.  I have to say I am proud of it, as I work hard at being an Ethical Blogger.  I give my honest opinions no matter what the product.  I can't take a lot of credit for the look of the blog however, that actually should go to Angela from Mommy PR and Tara Todd.  I thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart.
I also need to give a HUGE thank you to my followers whom without none of my blogging would be worth it nor enjoyable.  Thank you.  I am truly touched.

I love Pearls.  I have just never owned my own necklace.  I remember when I was younger my mother having this red velvet box that contained the most beautiful pearls I had ever seen.  They were an off white color.  Well recently I came across the Pearl Paradise website when I was looking for Mother's Day Gift Guide giveaway products and contacted them.  I was actually surprised they answered and offered a review AND giveaway.   They have gorgeous pearls.  Necklaces, Earrings, Bracelets, Rings, and Even Pearl Sets, just stunning.

    Mother's Day Gift Guide-Orglamix Review

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 5:10 PM 0 comments
I love make-up but I never really learned how to apply it.  The few times I did wear it especially eye shadow, my eyes swelled and itched the whole time.  It was horrible.  So I didn't know if it was the eye shadow or the mascara or what.  So that was it for me, I just quit wearing eye make up until I came across the Orglamix Etsy shop.

Cheri the owner sells mineral make-up.  All Orglamix products are proudly formulated without:
Nano Particles, Bismuth Oxychloride, Synthetic Dyes, Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Petrochemicals, Parabens. Orglamix is a proud member of PETA.

When I wore Sage eye shadow with my hypoallergenic mascara I had no problems with itching or swelling and it stayed on.  Normally after a few hours you can't really tell I'm wearing any eye shadow.  Not sure why but it happened all the time when I used to wear eye shadow.

A little while ago I ran across a website called Searcey Designs.  I was impressed with their jewelery so I contacted them.  They allowed me to choose a piece of jewelery to review.  I was like a kid in a candy store they had so much to choose from.  But then I saw it, the Awareness Bar, a beautiful silver bar with the Breast Cancer Awareness symbol and a pink stone hanging from it.  I fell in love with it. It's just so dainty and I feel elegant when I wear it.

Mother's Day Gift Guide-Bake Me A Wish Review and Giveaway

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 12:32 PM 228 comments

You can't have Mother's Day without a beautiful cake and the taste to go along with it. Bake Me A Wish allowed me to pick a cake. Well I love coconut and I found a very tasty looking Coconut Cream Cake on their website and told them that was my choice. It was the Delightful. That is the word that pops into my head when I think about that cake. It was so moist, and the Coconut flavor was amazing. It's filled with a scrumptious coconut-vanilla butter cream and iced with a velvety cream cheese frosting and sprayed with delicious toasted coconut. UNBELIEVABLE! Every bite was like a little taste of Heaven. I have to say, and I'm not saying this because I received a free cake, that is was the best cake I ever had!

    Beautiful Day

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 5:14 PM 1 comments
Here I sit on the Patio, nice and warm and sunny.  We're expecting rain tonight but I am enjoying the beautiful weather now.  My husband is grilling ribs and pork chops on the grill.   Half marinaded in Chiavetta's Barbeque Marinade and the other half with Two Sisters Southern Sweet BBQ Sauce.  I did a review of them earlier and hadn't had a chance to try all the products they sent.  Well now I am trying the BBQ Sauce.  I tasted it while he was brushing it on the ribs.  It is delicious, a little heat and a little sweet.  PERFECT combination!  We  are also using A little of the State Fair Spiedie Sauce.  Which I reviewed awhile back and loved their products.  I am so hungry just smelling it all.

    Tuesday Toot from mommycommunity.com

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 12:06 AM 3 comments
My Toot is I went to the doctor and found out that I had lost 30lbs. since the end of January!!!  When I saw him in January he told me I was diabetic.  So I decided to fight it with all I got and lost 30 lbs. so far.  I gave up carbohydrates, as he told me that raises your blood sugar more than sugar.  So I gave up my favorites, pasta, rice, bread, potatoes.  It says I can have some 3/4 cup of this, a cup of that, 1/2 cup of this and I know myself I could no way just eat 1 cup of pasta, so I leave it out of my diet all together.  Anyhow I just wanted to share that Toot with you!

    Thanks for listening,
