DaysAgo Digital Day Counter Review and Giveaway

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 12:53 AM

Are you tired of finding spoiled food in your refrigerator because you have forgotten how long you left it in there?  Or having to throw medicine away because it has expired?  Well I have a suggestion.  I suggest you try DaysAgo Digital Day Counter.  The digital day counter is the newest coolest gadget I have recently come across.

I received a package of 2 digital day counters to review.  I used it on our herb keeper that contained fresh basil that was in the refrigerator so I could see how many days it takes before the herbs go bad.  We used most of the herbs and left some to see how long it took.  It took about 11 days before it started to wilt.

A little information from the website:

The "Eureka!" moment came in the summer of 2005, when two friends, Debbie Stephens Stauffer and Kathleen Whitehurst, were in Debbie’s kitchen in Northern California working on ideas for a new business venture. During a break, Debbie asked Kathleen to feed her infant son with baby food from a jar.

Kathleen noticed a warning on the jar label that the food should not be kept more than 3 days after opening. "So how do you know how long they've been open" she asked. Busy young mom Debbie replied: "Oh, I wish I knew – you can’t believe how much food we have to throw away because we can’t keep track." Debbie opened her fridge to reveal several half-full baby food jars that would soon be wasted.

Both instantly knew that if they could solve this problem, they'd have a product that would be valuable to people all over the world. So they pulled together a team of family, friends and experts (including Jonathan Bruck) and that led to the creation of the DaysAgo, a digital day counter that attaches to food containers and other things that need smart tracking.

The DaysAgo Digital Day Counter is the first and only digital day counter that attaches to a variety of surfaces with a magnetic or suction backing and counts up to 99 days. It's a simple gadget that is re-usable, versatile and helps save money. You can use it on food containers to let you know how many days ago you opened it, closed it, tried it, sauced it, grew it, etc.  As for leftovers, it eliminates the doubt about when to throw it out.

Beyond its functionality as a cool kitchen gadget and tool, the DaysAgo is unique in that it can be used in every room in your house!  In the family room, track how long it’s been since you watered the plants or changed the filter in the fish tank.  In the bathroom, track how long it’s been since you’ve taken your medication.  Outside, track how many days it’s been since you fertilized the vegetable garden.
The many unique uses of the DaysAgo make it a great gift for any busy household. Families have discovered that it’s the household tool they’ve been missing!
The ideas here are just the tip of the iceberg – this is the kitchen tool that keeps expanding its uses! Families who have bought the DaysAgo often write to us, telling us about all the new ways they have been able to use this gadget around the house.

There's also an informative video on the website.  You can buy your own DaysAgo Digital Day Counter here.  DaysAgo have been featured on television programs such as Oprah Winfrey, Good Morning America, Today Show and in magazines such as Good Housekeeping, Real Simple, Fine Cooking, Woman's Day, Parenting and also in the New York Times.  They have also received many awards.
Also visit their Fresh Tips page here to see how many days food is good for.

Throughout the year DaysAgo supports Breast Cancer Network of Strength that help provide immediate emotional relief for all those touched by breast cancer.  So from now until December 31st DaysAgo will donate 10% for every pink DaysAgo sold.

DaysAgo is giving 3 of my readers a package of 2 digital day counters.   All you have to do is visit DaysAgo and come back and post one important thing you learned about DaysAgo Digital Day Counter. (This entry must be done or all other entries won't count).

I learned in addition to food shelf life, the Days Ago counter can be used to track pet feedings and breast milk lasts 5 days in the fridge.

I learned this:

The DaysAgo is a low-cost investment in a kitchen gadget that can save you money on your grocery bill over the long term. You will know exactly how fresh the food in your fridge is, instead of guessing and perhaps throwing away good food because you can’t remember when you opened it. By reminding you of how many days ago jars and bottles have been open in your refrigerator, you will be more likely to use the food you already have in your fridge instead of forgetting about it and then throwing it out when it’s too late.

I learned the battery is replacable which is great. This would be excellent for me as I'm diabetic with memory issues. Must walk regularly & eat timed snacks so this would be great for me.

You can keep track of how long ago you gave your pet their heartworm medication.
I have a puppy, and gerbil, so I would use them for them! Knowing how long it's been since i've changed the bedding and given medications would be great.
