Nature Valley Review

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 4:20 PM 1 comments
Thanks to my friends at MyBlogSpark, I was able to review Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters. They sent me 4 different flavors: Nut Lovers, Roasted Peanuts, Roasted Almond and Roasted Cashews. Well I love almonds and cashews so I knew I would like those. I bit into the Roasted Cashew and the taste was honey, cashews, granola and a dab of salt. Delicious. The Roasted Almond were similar except with an almond taste. The Roasted Peanuts were also good. The Nut Lovers had all the nuts but pecans instead of almonds, such a delectable taste. What I liked about all of them is the touch of salt so they weren't too sweet. They come in 5 oz. resealable bags for convenience.

Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters are granola and honey clusters with the different nuts added. If you go to their website: http://www.naturevalley.com/ you can get a $1.00 off coupon. I highly recommend the Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters. So grab a bag or 2 and enjoy!!

Addendum: Just wanted to let you all know if you bought any of the Nature Valley Granola Nut Cluster's, some have been recalled. I received this via email today from the MyBlogSpark Team:

We wanted to make you aware of General Mills´ announcement today of a voluntary recall of a limited quantity of "Nut Lovers" flavor Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters product containing pecans. This action is being taken as a precaution because pecans received from a supplier and used in the product may be tainted with salmonella. No other flavors or varieties of Granola Nut Clusters products are involved. The samples that you received from us WERE NOT affected by this recall. However, we wanted to make you aware of this announcement, as we did not want you to be concerned if you read about it or saw it in the news. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the "Nut Lovers" Granola Nut Clusters product, and no other types, varieties or flavors of Nature Valley products are being recalled. If consumers have any questions or concerns they may contact General Mills toll-free at 1-800-231-0308. Thank you. The MyBlogSpark Team

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 4:29 PM 68 comments
Anybody that has been reading my blog knows I'm a big snacker. But I am trying to be a little healthier with my snacking. So you can imagine how ecstatic I was when a company called LesserEvil contacted me about doing a review and giveaway of their snacks. They sent me the LesserEvil Veggie Sampler which includes: 2 bags Veggie Krinkle Sticks 1 bag Classic Kettle Corn 1 bag Black & White 1 bag Classic Sea Salt 1 bag Sour Cream & Onion A little information about the LesserEvil (from the website): Why are Veggie Krinkle Sticks the "LesserEvil" to other veggie sticks? * 40 sticks per serving! * 2.5 grams of fat per serving (60% less than leading brands) * 110 calories per serving * 10 grams of Whole Grains per serving * No cholesterol, no preservatives, no trans fats and no artificial flavors or colors * The only veggie stick out there that carries the Whole Grain Council seal of approval. We tried the Veggie Sticks first, they have such a different delicious taste. Not too salty, they have a nice crunch, good veggie taste (broccoli, spinach, onion, garlic and cilantro). They were fantastic! Then we tried the Classic Sea Salt, great potato taste. Also a hint of garlic and onion. I can't say enough about them, they were delicious. We haven't had time to try them all but I am sure I won't be disappointed, and neither will 2 of my readers as LesserEvil is giving away 2 Veggie Samplers. Behind every woman, is a GOOD man

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 2:35 PM 0 comments
I have come to realize that I have blogged about myself, my children and grandchildren but not really my SO. His name is Gary. He is 46. He is a good man. He took care of me all through my breast cancer treatment but even before that I had a lumbar spinal fusion and he cared for me 24/7. Every morning he brings me my coffee to my little office here, then a little later he brings all my meds, then my breakfast. He doesn't allow me to do any house work, but lately I have been helping with dinner and I fix lunches. He told me s soon as I get my strength back that I can gradually get back into that stuff. We are going to start walking because I have been off work for a year and not very active, so we are going to start slow. He said he will be behind me every step of the way.

He has a bad back himself and some nights he can barely move but he refuses to let me take care of him as he struggles to take care of me. His hobby is music, specifically Grateful Dead music. He has burnt probably 4,000 CD's or so.

He's a very good shopper. He finds the sales, he is careful with prices. So he does the majority of the shopping.

He has talked me into trying so many things I never would have in Pennsylvania like Sushi. The first place he took me was the Yin Yang Cafe in Annapolis. I just tried some of the roles (California roll, New York roll ya know the easy stuff). Then my next trip for Sushi was Joss's in Annapolis and he had me try som of the raw stuff so I had raw fish, it was delicious. Then he made it at home with his 2 hands....YUM. Anyhow I kinda got off track there, cuz I love Sushi. lol What I wanted to tell you is he cooks, and man can he cook. He is so good on the grill. His baby back ribs are to die for...they just fall off the bone. He makes a marinated pulled pork for sandwiches like no other I have tasted. He's amazing in the kitchen.

There is not really anything I can complain about except sometimes he doesn't put his dishes in the dishwasher, he just sets them in the sink. lol But I can overlook that because he makes me so happy and when he takes me in his arms and tells me he loves me and tells me everything will be alright. I feel safe and I actually start to believe it. I love him more than I knew I could love someone. I hope you all find someone like Gary in your lives. It's a great and safe feeling!!

Had to share

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 10:41 PM 0 comments
I received a box in the mail today, which isn't that unusual lately but where it came from was a little unusual. It was a box full of Popchips new flavors, right out of the blue. A booklet of coupons, some for free popchips, some buy one get one free. They also allowed me to "pay it forward", where I pick 3 friends that I think deserve the popchips package and they will send it to them. How cool is that? The popchips company has class. If you remember that was my first blog giveaway from a company. I recommend popchips to everyone. They are not fried or they are not baked.....they are popped. Try them. You won't be sorry.

Visitor's for the weekend

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 11:10 PM 0 comments
My sister Sharon and her husband Jamie came to visit this weekend. Actually Saturday night. They spent Friday at Gettysburgh for their Anniversary trip. Their 27th anniversary, yeah for them. Anyhow they came here on Saturday around 5ish. We went to dinner at Gordon Biersch in Annapolis. It was a good time, great food, great service. Fun was had by all. Now let's talk about the food at Gordon Biersch. Gary & I had the Beer Battered Fish and Chips with Malt Vinegar and Cajun Remoulade. EXCELLENT!!! The chips were actually garlic fries and were amazing. My sister had Pecan Chicken and loved it and my BIL Jamie had Chicken Parmesan and very pleased. Gary and I don't drink ( I know, I know, boring) but we had homemade RootBeer. Sharon had a Marzen Beer and Jamie well he likes his plain old beers so he had a Coors's Light. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely.

Muvee Reveal Giveaway:

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 10:59 PM 23 comments
I have had the opportunity to review this program that turns your pictures into movies. It's an exceptionally easy program to work with, it's just a one touch process from you video recorder, camera, phone, or hard drive to import any pictures regardless of formats. Fades, soundtracks, cuts, and FX--the whole deal is there in any style you choose. You won't be disappointed with the end result. This is great for mom's who want to share pictures and videos with grandma & grandpa. I LOVE it and have had so much fun working with it. All you have to do is pick a style, add a song and what photos you want included and it's so easy. I made this movie of my daughter that has cervical cancer and her daughter (my granddaughter), hope you enjoy it. There is a community you can join to discuss the program, and learn new things about it. It's very helpful I've joined myself: http://community.muvee.com/. Also they have a Facebook page you can join: www.facebook.com/pages/muvee/66573256019 I am giving away a CD of this program: All you need to do is visit their website www.muvee.com and come back here and tell me one thing you learned about the program. This is mandatory. That's it, easy.....GOOD LUCK and smile :)

Giveaway is for the Continental US only
Giveaway will end June 22nd
Make sure you leave some way for me to contact you in your post.
Winner will have 48 hours to respond before the prize is forfeited and a new winner is picked.
