To Curl or Not to Curl

Posted by Ellie-A Little of This and a Little of That at 1:28 PM
With the Power of Pink Infiniti by Conair You Style Multi Functional Styling Iron, that's the question you ask yourself on a daily basis. Should I curl it or not and with the Power of Pink Infiniti by Conair you have that choice because it's a curling iron and a straightener all in one. This one is special because it is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. You can make your hair real curly, or just wavy depending on how much hair you take at a time to slip the curling iron around. The less hair and more heat, the curlier the curl. The Power of Pink Infiniti by conair is made out of Nano Silver Tourmaline Ceramic Technology. Here is some information from the website:
  • From the purchase of this styling item, $1.00 is donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation by Conair
  • Multi-functional tool – curl or straighten
  • Revolutionary design – makes curling as easy as straightening
  • Fast and easy – curls, waves and creates body in a single stroke
  • Nano Silver Tourmaline Ceramic technology – unites micro particles of tourmaline ceramic and silver for a unique combination of technologies that emits frizz-reducing natural ions and creates clean, healthy-looking hair
  • 1" ceramic-coated straightening plates
  • 30-second instant heat*
  • High heat levels – 360°F/180°C
  • Uniform heat recovery – heat recovery system maintains optimum heat levels for perfect curls
  • Auto-off
  • 6-foot salon swivel cord
  • Limited two-year warranty
  • They also include a How To CD.
The lovely people from Conair sent me 2 of the Power of Pink Infiniti by Conair You Style Multi Functional Styling Irons. I gave one to my sister-in-law and kept one for myself. Now my sister-in-law has longer hair than mine so I thought that would be a good comparison. She stated she enjoyed the curling iron/straightener. At first she thought it made her hair too curly until she experimented with the heat controls and fixed the heat lower and then her hair wasn't so curly.

Now one of my lucky readers is going to win one. All you have to do is leave a comment about the new guidelines for mammography that have come out recently from The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. Do you agree or disagree and why. (THIS IS MANDATORY)

I disagree with the new guidelines. Quite a few women have had breast cancer detected with a mammogram in the 40-49 age group. I look at it as any kind of preventative care. Everyone's health is their own responsibility but I think it's ridiculous to say you shouldn't bother getting tested. They say that there are so many "false alarms" and unneeded biopsies....I would much rather have a false alarm than risk having a more difficult to treat breast cancer.

She had to argue with her doctor for over a year to get a mammogram and it was almost to late. It just seems like they want to save money, money that they will give to another program that already has to much funding already...

I disagree, I think it shoud be done yearly. Early detection is the key.

I disagree, early detection saves lives. Many people who are younger than their 40's and 50's get breast cancer each year. There's nothing wrong with starting to get mammograms early in life.

I think that you should be able to get a mammogram once a year. Early detection of a cancerous lump can be treated better than one that has been there a long time

I disagree. I think 40 is a good age to do this; think of the lives that have been saved by women under 50 who had a mammogram!

I disagree. I honestly believe that the only medically correct choice to make for anything is made between a woman and her doctor and no "panel" should change that.

I strongly disagree! I just think it's very important for women to take control of their health and have known too many women who've died from this disease.

I disagree with the new guidelines for mammograms because I think they will discourage people from being proactive about their health.

I disagree with the new guidelines. After all the years with the present guidelines and the history of breast cancer I think it is premature to change them. garrettsambo@aol.com

I disagree. I think it is time to stop sweeping our health and well-being under the rug because it saves money or because it is the popular vote. Early detection is key. It's time to start saving lives. Thanks for the great contest and for spreading awareness :)

I disagree because I think it is simply a cost-cutting measure. I don't understand how they can suggest that it's a bad idea for women to be screened in their 40s. Many women are diagnosed with breast cancer before age 50.
